The DAFA Program

Launched in 2009, the DAFA Program (diploma of aptitude for the functions of animator) is a national animation training program that meets the high requirements of the leisure and sports world. Developed by national leisure organizations (ONL), under the responsibility of the Conseil québécois du loisirs (CQL), it aims to ensure the safety and quality of entertainment for groups of young people aged 5 to 17, in all regions of Quebec .

Organizations that Offer the DAFA Program

Local Approved Organizations (OLAs) are qualified to offer DAFA training to their staff (volunteer or salaried) as well as to the public. These are recreation organizations, vacation camps, day camps, family vacation centers, community recreation centers, scout districts, municipalities and regional recreation and sports units (URLS). Leisure organizations that so wish can obtain DAFA accreditation. At the same time, there are solutions that allow any other organization to offer DAFA.

Executive responsiblefor training (CRF)

This certification is intended for trainers and those responsible for training or managing animation staff in their organization, who would like to hire trainers to offer the DAFA Program.

Additional training

Many additional training courses make it possible to improve the DAFA certification. Additional training is also offered to facilitators, trainers and managers.

Animation team coordination

Lasting 14 hours, the training in coordination aims to equip leaders of an animation team in their new management and supervision functions.

Trainer profile
